Has anyone signed a contract with a fuel vendor? I’ve been told it’s good to have a contract in place, just in case of a regional event, I’ll be on a priority list. If you’ve signed one, did it cost anything? Are you locked into a certain price per gallon?
We have a “preferred vendor” contract with a distributor, but it doesn’t detail our pricing. At time of disaster, I’m thinking it really isn’t going to matter – in the overall scheme of things, getting the fuel will be the worry, not the price. We don’t pay anything, but we already have a relationship with the vendor as they supply our onsite generator. We also have an agreement for locations and a janitorial service, and security.
