Is there a right time to declare a disaster or put Agility on alert?
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008When’s the right time to initiate a response from Agility? I understand I should put them on “alert” when we begin thinking about a recovery, but are there any concrete factors that determine when to actually declare a disaster?I’m scared that we’ll be waiting around weighing all the pros and cons and, eventually, it’ll be too late. Then again, if it’s only for a generator or server, the benefit may outweigh the cost of a recovery.
We’ve never tested. Any recommendations?

Options to power our building during outage
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008I don’t have a generator on hand and don’t plan to secure one for a short-term power outage. But if a storm blows through and the power is expected to be out for a couple days or longer, I’ll need a generator to power our server room and phones, at the least.
Do I have to pre-wire my office/building to handle a generator or can I worry about that if/when it’s needed?
Downtown office; no parking lot for mobile unit recovery
Friday, March 21st, 2008Our office is in an urban area and we will not be able to bring in a mobile unit to recover. I know I can work with some nearby businesses and (maybe) use some of their office space in conjunction with Agility’s technology. Does anyone else have a similar situation? What have you done?
