Regulatory Requirements

Monday, March 31st, 2008

Has anyone had to test due to regulatory requirements? If so, what kind of test did you perform to satisfy the audit?

Satellite Lag?

Monday, March 31st, 2008

I’ve heard the satellite phones and Internet can have problems with lag. Has anyone used them first hand?

Hardware Update

How often does everyone else out there update their hardware requirements with Agility?

New to Agility. Where to start?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I just became an Agility member and I’m new to this forum and business continuity planning. What’s the first thing I should do to formulate my plan? We’re a small company and I’m leading our planning effort. Thanks!

Is there a right time to declare a disaster or put Agility on alert?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

When’s the right time to initiate a response from Agility? I understand I should put them on “alert” when we begin thinking about a recovery, but are there any concrete factors that determine when to actually declare a disaster?I’m scared that we’ll be waiting around weighing all the pros and cons and, eventually, it’ll be too late. Then again, if it’s only for a generator or server, the benefit may outweigh the cost of a recovery.

We’ve never tested. Any recommendations?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

We signed up for Agility’s testing option, but have yet to test. Truthfully, I don’t know where to begin, how much/little to test, what to test, etc. What did you do during your first test? Where did you test?

Phone System – Can we re-route our lines during a disaster?

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I heard on a Webinar about Agility redirecting a company’s main phone line during a power interruption. They can send inbound calls directly to voicemail or a cell phone. Has anyone done this before? What was it like?

Industry-Specific Software Needs – Insurance Industry

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

We use particular software that is specific to our industry (insurance). This is the backbone of our business, from client service to billing. I’d love to hear if you have a similar situation and the steps you’ve taken to prepare to use this software on Agility technology during a recovery.

Options to power our building during outage

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I don’t have a generator on hand and don’t plan to secure one for a short-term power outage. But if a storm blows through and the power is expected to be out for a couple days or longer, I’ll need a generator to power our server room and phones, at the least.

Do I have to pre-wire my office/building to handle a generator or can I worry about that if/when it’s needed?

Downtown office; no parking lot for mobile unit recovery

Friday, March 21st, 2008

Our office is in an urban area and we will not be able to bring in a mobile unit to recover. I know I can work with some nearby businesses and (maybe) use some of their office space in conjunction with Agility’s technology. Does anyone else have a similar situation? What have you done?
